Magic, How Does it Work?!

Ever since I was a little girl, I've always watched magicians on television with my family and tried to figure out how they did the things they did. I always knew that it was an illusion and there was a reasonable explanation for all of it, but I just ignored it and chalked it up to magic. It's funner that way.

One of the magicians I grew up watching was David Blaine. The stunts that I liked the best weren't all technically 'magic', rather endurance stunts. But, I don't care, I still thought they were awesome. Being in a block of ice for more than 2 days, buried alive for like a week, being underwater for a week and holding his breath for nearly 8 minutes while he was at it. Incredible.

Then came Criss Angel. David Blaine did a little bit of levitating on his show, but nothing came close to what Criss Angel did. You know, the one where he did the levitation above the pyramid in Las Vegas. You know...

But, I have found a video of a magician in the UK that has just blown my mind. This guy's name is Dynamo. He's like the new Blaine or Angel (but much cuter, which is always a plus). He has a show called Dynamo Magician Impossible that just started airing it's third season on July 11 (Watch Channel). Here's a little sneak peak: In this video he levitates beside a bus through the streets. I don't understand it, I don't want to understand it, I just know that it's awesome. See for yourself:

Seriously, you can't explain that. I SO wish that I could watch his show in the US. Maybe I'll just have to move to Europe. Yeah, that sounds like a plan! :)

Happy Birthday, America!

It's the 4th of July and just like every other 4th, I'm sitting at home, surfing social media sites and watching TV. So American, I know. Here are some of my favorite 4th of July posts so far:

Found on the Thanks Bobby! Facebook Page
Found on the Tabernacle Atlanta Facebook Page
My personal favorite beer. Found on the Mic Ultra Facebook Page
From the Duck Dynasty Facebook Page
Now, back to my regularly scheduled 4th of July laziness. 'MURICA!

Grown-Up Things and Not-So-Grown-Up Things

Grown Up Things: For my job I get to travel around. Sometimes I get to go to other countries. For some reason, that country is mostly Canada. I'm scared to death of roaming fees, so how do I communicate with my Hubs? Skype. When I'm on a conference call with clients and I need to talk to people from my office without letting the client know, what do I use? Skype. Skype has saved my butt, and my bank account, a lot.
Skype can also be a lot of fun (if you know what I mean... ha)!

Not-So-Grown-Up Things: If you know me, you know that some of my music choices can be confused with that of a 13 year old girl. I can't help it. I have no idea why I like the music that I do - but I do. One of those groups that I love - One Direction. I mean, what girl doesn't like listening to songs telling them that they're beautiful? I, for one, love it.

And so do these girls.
Now, what do these 2 things have to do with each other? Well, Jimmy Kimmel does a segment on his show where he Skypes people at their houses and gets them to do weird stuff. It's pretty funny, and guess who his last Skype call  was - One Direction! Things included in this video: A golden horse, English accents, toothpaste mustaches, and Harry with no pants. Yeah, you read that right. Just watch the vid. :)

PS - I'll be waiting for my Skype call with 1D.

Mary Kay Influenster Starlet On-The-Go!

To my surprise, on Monday I got home from work with a Vox Box in the mail! This could be my favorite Vox Box I've ever gotten. If you haven't signed up for Influenster, you're missing out. There's a link over on my sidebar to the site. Go there. Sign up. Start reviewing products. Be happy!

This time the Vox Box is from Mary Kay! Isn't it beautiful? It even called me beautiful when I opened it up!

Let's get to the goods!

1. Mary Kay Lash Primer. This can be used as a base coat for mascara or by itself for a more natural look.
2. Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening. Perfect to pair with my new Lash Primer! Lengthens, curls, separates and lifts. So excited about this one!
3. Mary Kay Cream Eye Color - Violet Storm. This is a cream eye color, rather than a primer. The color is also GORGEOUS. One problem - I don't have anything to apply it with... Oh wait!
4. Mary Kay Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush. How about that! I've always used really cheap brushes to apply my makeup so I'm pretty pumped about having a quality makeup applicator!
5. Mary Kay True Dimensions Lip Stick in Pink Cherie. Not going to lie, this has become my first tube of real lipstick. I normally think I look ridiculous when I wear lipstick, but this color is ADORABLE. And, it's a moisturizing lipstick, so that's always a plus!

Now, since I got all of this awesome make up in my Mary Kay Vox Box, I couldn't help but to obviously put it all on! Lucky for you, I took some pictures. What do you think?

I think it looks great! Since I was actually going out into the world, I put on some powder also, which was my own, not from this box. I also realized that I need to get some sun. Yikes.

I NEVER wear lipstick because I always think I look ridiculous when I put it on, but the color that they included in the box was almost the same color as my actual lips, so it doesn't look bad at all! AND, it was super moisturizing. I might start wearing it more often. The creme, eyeshadow was something that I never tried before. I always used powder eyeshadow. Let me just say, creme is awesome. It blends well, it stays put and it doesn't get all over your face when you're putting it on.

Did you get the Mary Kay Vox Box from Influenster? How did you like everything? If you aren't part of Influenster, I suggest you get on it! Shoot me an email and I'll send you an invite! It's one of the better things I've signed up for on the internet, and I've signed up for some good stuff! ;)

Also, who doesn't take at least one duckface photo while taking selfies?

Today was a Bad Day.

Sorry Ice Cube, it wasn't happening today.

It was most definitely NOT a good day. Have you ever had one of those days where everything is getting on your nerves and nothing is going the way that it should and no matter what you do, someone ends up mad at you? Ever had a day that you just KNEW couldn't get any worse, and then it does? Yeah, that was my day.

So, while I still have some kind of composure, I'd like to give one last shout out to May 23, 2013:

Throwback Thursday, Anniversary Style!

So, today is Throwback Thursday in the social media world, and I'm taking a personal spin on it. Yesterday was me and Hubs' 3rd anniversary. 3 years ago we were newlyweds. Time sure does fly! To celebrate, I want to take it back with a few pictures of our lives together. Looking through these pictures brought me so many memories and made me so happy that I ended up with the man that I did. I sure do love him.

I tried to put these in chronological order. We were such babies when we started dating back in June of 2005. It's been a wild ride, but we still love each other, thank goodness! I couldn't imagine life without him.

What I'm Listening to Wednesday

I have no idea if this is a thing or not, but I'm going with it. I love me some music and my favorite songs change about three times a month, so I need to document my jams-of-the-moment while it's still that moment. Ya heard?

Mariah Carey feat. Miguel - Beautiful. MiMi's back and it's everything I wanted it to be.

Olly Murs - Dear Darlin'. I wasn't sure how I would feel about his second song, it being more of a ballad and all, but I really like it. It's kind of refreshing after Troublemaker.

Florida Georgia Line - Get Your Shine On. I love these guys. And I'm also pretty sure this is about moonshine. Can someone confirm, please? And can someone hook me up too? Kidding! Not really.

Ariana Grande feat. Mac Miller - The Way. Not gonna lie, the first time I heard this, I was not expecting these 2 to be the artists. LOVE IT. LOVE THEM. Love it all!

Luke Bryan - Crash my Party. Luke, if you'll just give me those digits I will totally crash all of your parties. Just sayin.

What are you listening to this week?

The Most Wonderful Place on Earth

Well, for a redneck, maybe! Last week I told everyone that I would be going to Talladega this past weekend. Well, I had a BLAST! If you've never camped out at a NASCAR race, you are truly missing out on one of the more exciting things in life! Every year I look forward to going, making new friends and hanging out with the old ones. Every year is another adventure and hilarious things seem to follow the rednecks around with the help of a little friend we all have named "alcohol". Here's some pictures!

Hubs and I on Friday. Check out the reflection in my glasses. Can't leave camp without the Bud Light, baby.
My cousin, me and Hubs. Apparently we wandered into AJ McCarron's grandpa's RV.  Go drunk us!
My cousin and our Mississippi friend we met 2 years ago at Dega. Yes, that's the 'shine.
Free infield concert this year was Chris Young. It was AWESOME.
My cousin and I at the concert. Never leave home without a koozie. And never come to Dega without a raincoat.
Finally we watched some racing! That sweet hat that hubs has on,  you can get here. SPEED POWER PASSION!
How else would you watch a cold and rainy race? With a beer and rain boots, of course!
We had so much fun this year (and may have gotten rained on just enough) that we might even go back for the fall race! I can't wait! What did you do last weekend??

Oh, and PS - The winner of the Sprint Cup race? David Ragan! He's from 20 minutes south of where I grew up! I was so proud!

Stepping Into Spring Swap

Last month, I did a swap over at Ricci Explains it All called "Stepping Into Spring". Basically, you got a partner and bought each other flip flops and toenail polish! Cute, right? Well, my partner and I both have problems keeping up with dates (thank goodness) and we were a little late in getting everything together for each other. Glad we had something in common right of the bat! I was paired with Elizabeth @ The Young Retiree and we actually had quite a lot in common! She goes to baseball games, she has started running and she's from the South! I knew immediately what I was going to get her when I started reading her blog!

Now, without further ado, here's what Elizabeth sent me:

I came home to find a box in the mail and I opened it up to see some BRIGHT pink tissue paper! LOVE IT!

Right on top there was a sweet note from Elizabeth. If you haven't gone to her blog yet, you should!

Then, I saw my new flip flops! They are bright pink and the bottoms are neon green! They SCREAM Tasha. I couldn't believe how well she nailed my personality right on the head. I've already worn them like 5 or 6 times. Whether they've matched or not!

And here's my nail polish that she sent me! A bright orange and a bright coral! I love both of those colors!!

And, as an added bonus, she sent me some freaking Lindt chocolate. She's knows the way to my heart! YUM!

It's been a great experience! I've loved reading Elizabeth's blog and ya'll should really go check it out too! Go go go!

Shake and Bake, Baby!

Tomorrow begins my favorite weekend of the entire year! It's TALLADEGA WEEKEND!

Thursday-Sunday of nothing but hanging out, drinking, getting tan and watching the races. Obviously I won't be blogging while I'm there, so please forgive me! I'll be sure to update when I get back! Boogity Boogity Boogity!

Baby-Free Since 2003

It seems like the more you're on Facebook, especially in the South, the more people are popping out babies. I swear, every time I get on Facebook there's someone else getting pregnant or popping out a child. Don't get me wrong, I want kids. And, up until a few weeks ago, I wanted them like NOW!

I had them baby rabies BAD. It was actually affecting my mental state. Finally, I was alone one day browsing my photos on Facebook and remember all of the fun things that I've gotten to do for the past few years. When you move out on your own you have this sense of freedom. You all know what I'm talking about. You can do whatever you want, go wherever you want, stay however long you want, etc. You're free to do all of those things without a DAMN thing holding you back.

Then, you get married and move in with your Hubs and things tend to slow down a little bit. You get a steady job, you've got a good routine going, you've got more money than you ever had in college and your brain, from some reason goes straight to: GIVE ME A BABY. It's the weirdest thing.

Now that I've come out on the other side of this terribly brain warping part of being female, I am offering my - for lack of  a better term - wisdom.

I will give you a quote from my dad first: "Spend your money on yourself for as long as you can. When you have kids, it all goes to them." This was followed by an ever-so-tactful "Don't think I want to have grandkids, because I don't." Thanks dad!

At the time, I kind of shrugged it off because I didn't fully comprehend the knowledge in that advice my dad gave me. Now that I'm making money, I get it. Why would you want to rush into having kids right when you start making money? Why would you not want to take a few years and enjoy the extra money that you're making? After you start having kids, you'll have to wait YEARS before you can basically do anything ever again without having to worry about the well being of a little human that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TAKING CARE OF FULLY. When I realized that, it was like a brick to the face.

Not only do I not want to be fully responsible for a little human at this point in my life, but I don't want anything holding me back from doing all the things that I love doing. Call me selfish. I like going to baseball games. I like shopping. I like taking trips. I like amusement parks. I like napping on my own time. I like going out with my friends. I like staying out all night with whoever it is that I'm with and coming home at ungodly hours of the morning. I like having friends over at the house. I like eating out. I like spontaneous vacations. I like my quiet house. Pretty sure that most, if not all, of those things are going to come to a halt when I start having kids. Quite frankly, I don't want that.

So girls, if you don't want kids - don't be pressured into having kids from all of the baby pictures, baby pins and baby statuses flooding Facebook. Wait until you're ready. You have to give up a lot more than just time to have a baby so take your time  in deciding if you want one or not. Children need attention. Pretty much all you can give. Make sure that you're ready to give that up because you're going to have to. Children deserve all the attention, all of the care and the best possible life that you can give them. If you aren't ready to give 200%, you probably aren't ready. And that's okay. If you wait until you're ready, you and baby will probably be happier.

This wasn't to offend young mothers. I just wanted to put my recent epiphany out there for other young married women such as myself.
