The Most Wonderful Place on Earth

Well, for a redneck, maybe! Last week I told everyone that I would be going to Talladega this past weekend. Well, I had a BLAST! If you've never camped out at a NASCAR race, you are truly missing out on one of the more exciting things in life! Every year I look forward to going, making new friends and hanging out with the old ones. Every year is another adventure and hilarious things seem to follow the rednecks around with the help of a little friend we all have named "alcohol". Here's some pictures!

Hubs and I on Friday. Check out the reflection in my glasses. Can't leave camp without the Bud Light, baby.
My cousin, me and Hubs. Apparently we wandered into AJ McCarron's grandpa's RV.  Go drunk us!
My cousin and our Mississippi friend we met 2 years ago at Dega. Yes, that's the 'shine.
Free infield concert this year was Chris Young. It was AWESOME.
My cousin and I at the concert. Never leave home without a koozie. And never come to Dega without a raincoat.
Finally we watched some racing! That sweet hat that hubs has on,  you can get here. SPEED POWER PASSION!
How else would you watch a cold and rainy race? With a beer and rain boots, of course!
We had so much fun this year (and may have gotten rained on just enough) that we might even go back for the fall race! I can't wait! What did you do last weekend??

Oh, and PS - The winner of the Sprint Cup race? David Ragan! He's from 20 minutes south of where I grew up! I was so proud!

Shake and Bake, Baby!

Tomorrow begins my favorite weekend of the entire year! It's TALLADEGA WEEKEND!

Thursday-Sunday of nothing but hanging out, drinking, getting tan and watching the races. Obviously I won't be blogging while I'm there, so please forgive me! I'll be sure to update when I get back! Boogity Boogity Boogity!

Weekend Recap!!

I had a pretty exciting weekend so I'm gonna link up with Sami's Shenenigans for Weekend Shenanigans! Let's just get right into, you wanna?

Friday:

Friday was pretty awesome! I headed up to Atlanta for my first baseball game of the season. Check out the shirts that I got for this season:

www.thankbobby.com
Aren't they adorable?? I love them. When I got to Atlanta, I helped out with the Homeless Pets Foundation before the game to try and get some puppies a home. I wish I could take them all, but I can't. *sadface*

Here's a few pictures that were taken on Friday, at the Braves game. Braves won, I got to see some friends that I hadn't seen in ages and I got to go out so I was a happy happy girl.

That jacket I'm wearing I had to buy at the game. I hate spending lots of money on clothes, but it was freezing and I had to do something about that - so I bought a $69 jacket. The cheapest jacket in the whole stadium. Was it worth it? I don't know - but what I do know is that I'm gonna be wearing it A LOT so it will seem like it was worth it. See what I mean:

I mean, it's pretty cute though, right? Okay, it was worth it.

Now, here's a couple of pictures from Friday night with my sweet friend J-Dub who I hadn't seen in a long time! I love her!

Saturday:

Yeah, all that was on Friday. Can you believe it? I can't either. Saturday we got up and walked to Centennial Park for the Big Dance concert series for Final Four weekend. It was SO. CROWDED. I expected it though. I mean, the line up was insane! Macklemore, Ludacris, Flo Rida, Muse. Unfortunately, I could only handle it for so long without food or water, so I only got to really see Macklemore. I caught a little bit of Luda while I was eating (which is kind of a bummer because I love me some Luda!). Muse ended up being after the basketball game, so I didn't get to see them either. I had to head home. WHAT. A. LONG. DRIVE. Anyways - it was TOTALLY worth it! Here's my pics from Macklemore! He was awesome!

Sunday:

Sunday I made it all the way home. I was tired, I hurt and I felt like a truck hit me on the highway. It was all worth the weekend that I had. That, and the ACMs were on last night and I got to see Lukey Luke in his skinny jeans. Yes, please!

What did you do this weekend? Bet it wasn't as good as mine! :)

Friday Jams Recap

It's FINALLY Friday! I don't know about ya'll but these past couple of weeks have just drug on and on. Thankfully, the weather is warming up and the weekend is here! Here's what I'll be listening to while enjoying my beautiful weekend ahead!

One Direction - Kiss You. Call me a Directioner or whatever the heck they're called now-a-days, I don't even care. Maybe it's the 90's kid in me that loves 1D, but I JAM to every song that they come out with. It's a little ridiculous. Whatevs.

Old Crow Medicine Show - Wagon Wheel. Ever since Darius Rucker came out with his coverof Wagon Wheel by OCMS, I've grown to appreciate the original song even more. No one can duplicate it. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Darius' version, but I'm attached to the original.

Kenny Chesney - Key Lime Pie. Where has this song been all my life? I love key lime pie, I love Kenny Chesney. What a perfect combination of both of those things that I love. Holy crap. Kenny music makes me want to vacation all year round. How about you?

Chris Young - I Can Take it From There. Ya'll, I saw Chris Young in concert with Miranda Lambert last year and I fell in love. Also, I'm going to Talladega in May to camp on the infield and guess who's playing the free infield concert! You guessed it! Chris Young. Whoop Whoop!

Corey Smith - The Baseball Song. Ya'll it's coming!! In just over 2 weeks, regular season baseball is BACK! I am BEYOND excited for baseball season. There's nothing like walking into Turner Field, hearing the crack of the bat, smelling the boiled peanuts and hearing the tomahawk chop. I am SO READY. Fun Fact: This is my ringtone.

What are YOU listening to this week?

Saturday Instagram Recap!

First I would like to apologized for how crappy of a blogger I've been this week. This week has been nothing short of crazy for me. I promise to do better. :)

But, I've finally got a break so I'm linking up with the Fantastic Sara Elizabeth from Pearls and Curls for Saturday Instagram recap! Not too many pictures this week, obviously, since it's been ridiculous! I've got to step my game up!

Pearls and Curls

And here we go!

Girl Scout Cookies. Savannah Smiles have taken over as my new favorite!!
Getting ready for the gun range. Hubs was teaching me how to clean my new gun!
Kimber. There's always going to be a picture of her. :)
New SmallCakes opened up in town! IT. IS. SO. GOOD! Not good for my figure though! (We've been twice)
I FINALLY got to wear my pink Sperrys! Thank goodness the rain stopped!
Went to the gun range when it was FREEZING out. We could only stand to be out there for 30 minutes!
Watch this week for a recipe post (Breakfast Casserole) and another go round of the Liebster. I'm starting to feel super duper loved! Let's hope for a less-hectic week than last!

I hope all of you have a FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC weekend! Holla!

Friday, Friday

Gotta get down on Friday!

Okay, I won't torture you with that anymore. But, I do want you all to check out the songs that I've been loving this week. The weekend finally being here makes me happy and when I'm happy I love busting out to my favorite songs on the way home. I feel like the music that people listen to can tell you a lot about their personality. I'm about to share with you some of my favorite songs lately. Basically I'm giving you permission to judge me according to my music. I think it'll be fun!

First off, Suit & Tie - Justin Timberlake ft. Jay-Z. Maybe it's because I grew up in the midst of Justin Timberlake mania. Maybe it's because his voice is so smooth and dreamy to me. Maybe I like the flow of this song. I don't know. Whatever it is, I love it. This CD needs to come out immediately!!

Sure Be Cool if You Did - Blake Shelton. I love me some Blake Shelton. I follow him on Twitter, I've seen him in concert, I watch the Voice like it's the only singing competition show on television. I think he is hysterical. After Red River Blue, I wasn't really sure what direction he would go in with his music. I heard this song and I can't get enough of it! You go Blake! I also love his choice in wife. Isn't Miranda incredible? Talk about a power couple!

Troublemaker - Olly Murs ft. Flo Rida. The first time I heard this song I thought it was Maroon 5. To my surprise it was Olly Murs and I got SO excited because as much as I love Adam Levine, I needed some other guy in my life who sang with that same voice. You know what I'm talking about.

Downtown - Lady A. I will put my love for this song this way: I knew every word to this song the second time I heard it. LOVE LOVE LOVE. And this freaking version? They really are incredibly talented. And they added a little homage to Shania there at the end. My gosh, I love them. It's like they can't release a bad song. It's not possible.

Mirrors - Justin Timberlake. And just to prove how ridiculously obsessed with JT I am, here's another song that he just came out with that is equally as awesome as Suit & Tie. Again, this album needs to come out RIGHT NOW. I'm tired of waiting!

What songs are you obsessed with this week?

Weekend Shopping!

Happy Monday, ya'll!! I don't know about where ya'll are, but at my house it is raining! Schools are closed because of flooding! How crazy is that??

In order to keep myself from going crazy with all of this icky weather, I think about what a great weekend I just had! I went home to visit my Momma this weekend and Me + Momma = Super Shoppers.

I do not buy things at full price. Ever. I guess it was instilled in me when I was just a youngun'. But let me tell you, I can find a deal! Here's some of the bargains I found this weekend:

http://www.sperrytopsider.com/
These amazing shoes are from Belk. On the Sperry website they are marked-down to $59.99. How much did we pay for them at Belk? Twenty. Freaking. Dollars. Whoop whoop!

I got a pair of jeans AND a pair of shorts at this store called "Dots" for a grand total of $16. Love them!

www.amazon.com/
I got this hoodie at TJ Maxx. Since you can't shop online with TJ Maxx and I really wanted to know how good of a deal I got on this, I searched Amazon. You can buy this hoodie on Amazon from $45-$65. How much did I pay for it? $7. REALLY? Really.

www.belk.com
Another great deal we found at Belk. See the clearance prices? Take half off of those. That's right, $64 worth of jewelry for $16. I swear, I love Belk more and more every time I go in there. Hubs? - exactly the opposite!

Now, that wasn't everything but it was the better of all the deals we found this weekend. I always have a great time when I go home. Family, home cooking, shopping, old friends. What more could a girl ask for??

Did anyone else find any good deals this weekend? I'd love to hear about them!

Best. Weekend. Ever.

I had an incredible weekend! Wanna hear about it? OF COURSE you do!

Friday started out like any other day: at work. This week just happened to be one of the weeks that we had lunch together as a company on Friday. So, there's a good start right there. After eating lunch, I finished up what I had to do at work and rushed home to my man. It was date night! We went out to First Friday in Downtown Valdosta and had a great time! We ate dinner at Bleu Pub (best burgers ever!) and walked around to all of the shops to kill a little time before coming back home.

We got home pretty early on Friday night so we got a GOOD night's sleep that night and woke up the next morning nice and refreshed. We went to the Verizon store because it was time for my upgrade! Ya'll, Hubs bought me an iPhone 5 and I am in love. L-O-V-E. I never thought that I would be an "Apple" girl, but OMG, this thing is SA-WEET! Hubs was even super nice and bought me this cover:
It's silver glitter! How perfect! He's even played with it so much that I think he's gonna get one too! Facetime alone is worth it! I got to see my brother's puppy dog, Si, do some tricks yesterday! It was pretty neat! Also, selfies are SO much easier now! Bahaha!

After the fun of getting a new phone, the day wasn't even over yet! It was only 11am! Saturday, the Braves Caravan came through Valdosta and you better believe that I was in that line! For those of you that aren't familiar with Braves Caravan: every year before Spring Training, Braves players (current and former) start having autograph signings around the Southeast, mostly in Georgia. It lasts for about 12 days and it's pretty cool to get to meet the players. This year was the first year that they came to Valdosta.

We had the pleasure of meeting (from closest to furthest) Eddie Perez (former catcher, current bullpen coach), Greg Walker (hitting coach), Phil FREAKING Niekro (knuckleballer extraordinaire), Ryan Klesko (LF and 1B - played for the Braves when we won the '95 World Series), David Hale (MS Braves pitcher), and Joe Simpson (Current Atlanta Braves broadcaster). We got 2 baseballs signed by everyone and we are now proud owners of this:

It's beautiful, isn't it? Phil told me that this photo was taken on his last day in a Braves uniform. How cool! We're like BFFs now. I really need to buy a frame for this but until I do, it's in a safe place, away from all harm. Also at the Braves Caravan this happened:

That's the Braves mascot "Homer", since we really can't have Chief Noc-a-Homa anymore because it's apparently politically incorrect while Washington is prancing around with the "Redskins" as their mascot and the Cleveland Indians have "Chief Wahoo". BUT, that's a soap box I will step on at another time. :) I did manage to get 2 free shirts and a koozie while I was standing in line! Can't beat free!

That brings us to today. Superbowl Sunday. I've been mentally preparing myself for incredible amounts of greasy and sugar-packed foods to be consumed later by turning on 90's on 9 while cleaning and cooking. By cleaning I mean wiping up the mess I make while I'm cooking and by cooking I mean throwing some meatballs in the crockpot and mixing up some spinach dip and putting it in the fridge... ALRIGHT, so I'm being lazy. I admit it. Whatever. It's Sunday. Day of Rest, amirite?

I'm pretty excited for a night of football, friends and funny commercials. Who wouldn't love that? For now, back to my 90's music.

How was your weekend?
